My name is Bec Simone. I’m a counsellor working with individuals that have experienced trauma and complex trauma
I’m currently available for client referrals.
I’m see clients at an allied health clinic in Curtin ACT, Australia but can offer telehealth options.
I have a graduate diploma of counselling and work in private practice. I am a psychotherapist in training with the Australian and New Zealand Psychotherapy Association (ANZAP). The training focus is working with the Conversational Model of contemporary psychodynamic psychotherapy.
The Conversational Model
Among the best validated of all current psychotherapies
There is an increasing body of clinical experience that the Conversational Model can help borderline individuals reduce their suicidal tendencies and self-harming behaviour, develop a secure sense of self and enrich their interpersonal relationships.
Relational model
The model emphasises how early developmental relational trauma shapes many severe adult psychiatric problems and how to deal with this in short, medium and long term therapy.
For chronic psychiatric syndromes
The model has been developed for syndromes that are difficult to treat, particularly Borderline Personality Disorder or Complex PTSD, dissociative disorders other personality disorders, treatment resistant disorders and somatic disorders.
I have a particular interest in working with women that are navigating life transitions, such as the time before, during and after birthing, loss of relationship or other significant life events.
As part of my training, I receive weekly supervision from a member of the ANZAP faculty.
